We're Not Done With Christmas... Just Yet!
Christmas 2024 has been a very busy time for our volunteer programme makers and editors. Not only have they been preparing their own festive delights at home, but also have found time to produced Coast FM's biggest Christmas schedule to date.
We've been out and about around West Cornwall, recording concerts, festivals and our own pantomime... oh yes we have!
For the past three year's, The Gweek Panotloons have been involved with Coast FM's Christmas Day pantomime. This year was no exception and it was the turn of Terry Lander's Cinderella Island.
Tim Ashley was out and about in a very damp Penzance on the 21st of December, capturing the atmosphere of Montol, a celebration of the Winter Solstice, while Peter and Dan Ashley keeping the transmitters warm. Although the weather wasn't great, the festival certainly didn't dampen the spirits.
Meanwhile, Martin Holland and Nick Dent kept dry while recording five Christmas Concerts.
Illogan, Paul, Penzance and St Buryan were the locations for the traditional festive concerts - all raising money for local charities and organisations.
We would like to give special thanks to St Buryan Male Voice Choir, The Celtic Male Ensemble, Mousehole Male Voice Choir, Penzance Orpheus Ladies Choir and Pipers Choir for allowing Coast FM to record their fantastic performances and hope to hear you again throughout the year, and at Christmas too.
We'd also like to thank the volunteers and helpers, venues and everyone else who make these performances possible.

We'll be out and about throughout 2025, recording interviews and bringing stories from our community to life, broadcasting live from local events and festivals, and producing radio versions of concerts and gigs - as we bring West Cornwall home to you!
